Individuals, families and corporations have the opportunity to support the Museo de Arte de Puerto Rico (MAPR)by participating in our fundraising events.  Save the date in your calendar for the upcoming events at the Museum that will generate funds to support the institution.

Fundraising Activities

You can be a part of the MAPR by sponsoring family and fundraising activities organized by the Museum.

Throughout the year, the Museum organizes diverse fundraising events for the general public as a way to provide a variety of alternatives for you to support our educational programs, the exhibition program, the growth of the permanent collection [link to Collection], the Artist Assistance Program (PROA) and the Museum’s operations.  Among the many activities we develop are: 

  • The Gran Gala of the Museum
  • ArteJangueo
  • Dinners
  • Training workshops for artists
  • Concerts
  • Fashion Shows
  • Among others

The MAPR celebrates once a year the Gran Gala as a fundraising event that will contribute to cover the operational expenses of the Museum.  As part of our commitment with the students in the Public Education system of Puerto Rico, for every ticket sold for this event, the MAPR gives one Student Membership to a youth selected through the Education department of Puerto Rico.  These memberships and the funds donated through the generosity of the sponsors, make this one of the most important events for the institution.  There are many Sponsor categories with attractive benefits, to request information please contact Myrna Pérez, Director of Development and Membership, at 787.977.4449 or by email: infodesarrollo@mapr.org.

Another important event created on 2013 is ArteJangueo (Art Hang Out) organized in collaboration with the Young Friends of the Museum group (JAM by its initials in Spanish).  This event, celebrated many times a year, mixes art, music and philanthropy.  Guest artists create works of art live during the event, where there is also live music, while the guests can interact with the artist and enjoy a fun evening at the Museum with friends.  As a result of the generous support of this event’s sponsors, admission fee to this event is accessible to the general public.  All funds raised through this are directed to the acquisition of works of art for the Museum’s Permanent Collection.
